Our Coffees
Note: Not all of these are available all of the time. We don't like to roast ahead of orders and some of these coffees do not sell fast enough to keep on hand. So, we roast on demand. If you'd like to order one of the coffees listed but find no "add to cart" button, just drop me a note and we'll price it and roast it for you!---Chris
The Light Roasts
Columbian Supremo (Decaf Available)
This is our lightest roast coffee. Often thought is that the darker roasts have more caffeine. Not true! Caffeine burns off with roasting and the longer the beans are roasted, the lower the caffeine content. Columbian Supremo is a light roast, light body style of coffee. If you are drinker of branded coffees that come in a can, this is your first step out of the can! While similar to the store brands, ours has more flavor and is not bitter. If you like typical grocery store coffee, you will love this! Buy 5 pounds and we'll grind it for you (upon request).

Sumatra Mandheling
Another light roast style of coffee. Sumatra is light bodied and slightly sweet. This is the tea drinkers coffee! Sumatra has a slight bitterness, which blends nicely on the palate with the slight sweetness. This is an excellent morning coffee. I say that because it has a nice caffeine content and a low oil content. Yes indeed, some coffees can literally make you feel full. This too is a low acid coffee. Sumatra goes well with a good cigar too!

Hawaiian Kona Blend
We blend our premium arabica beans with pure kona coffee. You'll get the wonderful flavor of the coffee grown in the rich lava fields of Hawaii without paying the rich price that kona coffee commands! This too is a light roast coffee with more body than Sumatra or Columbian Supremo. This coffee is a treat! And if you're looking for caffeine, our Kona Blend has it!

Kenya AA
Here's a coffee! We use beans from Kenya and roast them to a perfect nutty brown. This is a rich, satisfying cup of coffee with a pleasant aroma. If you like flavor but don't like dark roasts or strong coffee, give our Kenya AA a try! The beans have a beautiful nut-like color. If you want to give a coffee as a gift but are not sure what to get, Kenya is always a people pleaser! The coffee is medium-bodied and has a very smooth "mouth feel". Very low acidity too.

Estate Java Premium
I never thought I would like a light roast as much as a dark roast coffee. Why? I really prefer the hearty flavor of the dark roasts though occasionally I'll enjoy a cup of our light roasts. BUT, this stuff is exceptional. Start with the aroma. WOW. You'll want a separate bag just to put your face in it. Seriously, it's just that good. We've been working on this one for a long time and I think we've found the perfect bean and developed the perfect roast. The experience is of a full-bodied, slightly bitter (it's a good bitter!) extremely rich cup of coffee. The "mouth feel" is very full. I've found that it can be made up very strong too---that's very unusual for a light roast. This is a true light roast! No after taste whatsoever.
Even if you only drink DARK roasts, you'll like this bean. And, if you're a light roast drinker this will probably be the best coffee you've ever had. The flavor comes through if you make it very weak and the flavor stays good if you make it pretty strong.
We are roasting very expensive, estate grown Java beans so it isn't cheap. But we're offering a special so you can compare this to any other light roast coffee bean---including Kona!

Celebes Special Roast
Ok, now we're getting into coffee for the very discriminating palate. This roast is light and slightly acidic. The caffeine content is moderate. The flavor is out of this world! This coffee rivals Kona! It's wonderfully rich and subtly buttery. If you want a super-premium light roast, try Celebes. Tip: Don't grind it too finely and don't make it too strong until you "learn" this flavor. It's very unusual and has none of the earthy tones of the other light roasts. You will not be disappointed!

Jamaican Blue Mountain
The real deal. Why is this so expensive? It can only be produced in a very, very limited area. If you want a very impressive coffee to serve after a fine meal, this is it. If you want the world's best coffee to serve with fine cigars, this it. If you want to give a gift that is sure to impress, this it. If you want a raise and a promotion....well, maybe. $45/lb. 5 Pound Minimum.

The Dark Roasts
Dark Moka Java Blend
It's a dark roast style blend of South American and Java beans. Low acid and great full flavor. Slightly more body than Columbian Supremo. This coffee has a wonderful aroma too. Our Dark Moka Java makes a full flavored brew with very low acid! Smooth and full, stands up nicely to cream too. This is a very impressive coffee. Not to be confused with mocha. This is NOT chocolate flavored coffee.

Organic Dark Sumatra
This is dark roast coffee. We select the highest grade Sumatra beans and dark roast them to just bring out the oils. This coffee brews up very rich and full-bodied with an excellent deep aroma. You'll notice a fuller body than our Dark French Roast---it's less smokey and a bit richer. No bitterness! The flavor can be likened to an unsweetened chocolate type flavor. If you take cream, this coffee can hold up nicely to cream without seeming "watered" down. The caffeine content is "moderate" which means you can make it strong without getting the headache that comes from excessive caffeine. (People's reactions to caffeine varies. This is meant as a general statement.) Dark Sumatra is one of the finest coffees we offer and we encourage you to try it. This coffee is a superb value! We'd put our Dark Sumatra up against any coffee costing as much as $18 per pound.

Premium Espresso Roast
You want strength and body? Here it is. This is dark roast, tangy, rich and very aromatic cup of coffee. To really enjoy it, make it super strong in a French press. Grind it VERY fine. French presses keep the grounds out but don't filter the oils out. That makes this coffee even richer. If you use a coffee maker, and most of us do, you'll want to experiment with the right amounts of water to coffee. Soon you'll find your perfect formula. I always recommend this but few people try it: put a small piece of lemon peel in your cup (1" X 1/2") before filling with coffee. Add the coffee and enjoy! The slight lemon taste will really enhance your Espresso experience. Please try it and let me know how it went! Okay?

Dark French Roast --- Italian Style (Decaf Available)
Here's The King in the land of coffee drinkers. Our best seller and no wonder why! Here you have an incredible rast at an incredible price!
There are some things to understand about French Roast. First of all, French Roast is the best seller of all the gourmet style, premium coffees. What's interesting about this is that not all French Roasts are the same, or even similar. Some French Roasts are light, some are dark. Sometimes people get used to another nameless brand of French Roast and then they try ours. I get emails that cover a wide range comments---most favorable. Here's the "skinny" on our French Roast. Our French is known as "Italian style" French Roast. Go figure! Our French Roast is smoky, slightly sweet and very flavorful. It is a medium-light body style that I believe is perfectly roasted. When your beans arrive, you'll see that they are nearly jet black and very oily. That's an art to achieve. I can only say that this is the way French Roast is supposed to be and that achieving this is very hard to do. Why? Because roasting those premium arabica beans all the way to black without burning off the oils is extremely difficult. This is truly a great coffee and should be selling for $16 per pound.
If you're used to a lighter French Roast, try our Organic French Roast---but watch the caffeine because the slightly lighter roast retains more punch. If you're used to French Roast that is fuller bodied, try our Dark Sumatra Roast. And if the French Roast you've been getting is deep brown, walnut-like color (like the wood), then try our Moka Java Dark. You see, French Roast comes in many styles and we have a coffee to meet your requirements!

Certified Organic French Roast
Here's the real stuff. These are shade-grown, certified organic, dark roasted coffee beans. This is very rich and VERY strong coffee and yet there is no bitterness. The roast is a little less dark than our Dark French Roast. The caffeine content is very high. If you like a jolt, you'll love this roast. I highly recommend that you do not start out too strong with this coffee...

The Flavors
Hazelnut Crème (Decaf Available)
This is the best seller of the flavored coffees. It has wonderful hazelnut aroma and nice medium body. We don't over do it with the flavorings so you can taste the premium coffee from which it's made. The "crème" means smooth! We don't add any phony creams to this perfect coffee. This stuff smells so good you won't be able to resist it. We do not sweeten our flavored coffees! So, our hazelnut is never sicky sweet or laden with some horrible artificial cream. If you want cream in your coffee, put your own REAL cream in it! Many "purists" enjoy our flavored coffees. If you only like a flavored coffee occasionally, don't worry about it! Our bags are designed to preserve the coffee for a long time. If you store it in the freezer, it will keep for months since our bags keep moisture and freezer burn out. The bags easily reseal. If you want a good flavored coffee for a special treat, get some hazelnut. Still not sure? We can send you a sample for $6 (shipping included).

Cinnamon Hazelnut
Take the best selling Hazelnut Crème and add a hint of cinnamon and you've got our Cinnamon Hazelnut Crème. Remember! We don't burry our coffees in flavorings. This coffee is "spiced" with a nice touch of cinnamon. If you want "Redhots or Hot Tamales" go to the candy department of the grocery store. If you want to impress dinner guests, serve this with a touch of whipped cream!

Vanilla Cream
Suppose you like a very lightly flavored coffee? Our Vanilla has just a hint of vanilla flavor. The coffee itself is beautifully roasted to a nice nutty brown color. This is a light bodied coffee and very pleasant as an afternoon "break" coffee. If you're looking for something special for the office, Vanilla is a nice choice. Even people that don't care for flavored coffees will enjoy our Vanilla because the flavoring is quite light. Watch out though! As soon as the aroma hits the air the whole office will head for the break room!

Kahlua N' Cream
I don't how I'm going to explain this one! Kahlua is a Mexican coffee liquor. So that makes this coffee flavored coffee? No, but it does have a flavor very reminiscent of the Mexican drink of Kahlua and Cream. This actually is my favorite of the flavored coffees. It's delicious! Also, it's fun to experiment with. Add a little brandy and dollop of whipped cream and you've got rich, smooth after dinner treat. It makes great iced coffee too---especially when mixed with a little real cream. Try making it very strong and drop a scoop of vanilla ice cream into the cup. Yummy! I can tell you one thing for sure: I have never had any other coffee like it and all our houseguests love it! It's hard to find something different and still widely popular! We'll keep it our secret. This coffee makes a great gift because it's so unusual.

Crème Brule
If you love the dessert, you'll really like this flavored coffee. We never, ever over do it with the flavorings. This flavor was introduced in December of 2004 and is on it's way to being our best seller! It's a perfect coffee for entertaining! The aroma is incredible! The flavor is very reminiscent of a light, creamy custard.
